Yom Hashoah

Yad Vashem, The Holocaust History Museum, Jerusalem, Israel.

Today is Yom Hashoah, i.e. Holocaust Remembrance Day and a public holiday in Israel. The new Holocaust History Museum in Jerusalem, Israel, was opened in March 2005. We visited this on the last day of our stay in the Holy Land. While photography was not permitted in the history museum, we could do so at the children's memorial, which commemorates the one and a half million children who were murdered in the Holocaust. Isaiah 56:6 And to them will I give in my house and within my walls a memorial and a name (Yad Vashem) that shall not be cut off.

Bread

We saw a lot of the curling type of bread in Israel. We even saw a couple of men stuffing these bread into the boot of their car. Someone in our group said a loaf like that could feed the whole family for the whole day. I wonder what it tastes like - sweet or saltish or tasteless.

Dome Of The Rock

The Temple Mount, Jerusalem, Israel.

View of The Dome Of The Rock through a narrow gateway, known as the Cotton Gate (or the Cotton Merchants' Gate) in the Old City of Jerusalem. Errected around the 7th century AD, the Dome Of The Rock is an Islamic shrine and it stands on the Temple Mount, which is sacred to Jews, Muslims and Christians.
